Faceless Lycra Slicker
Made from our signature 8 oz. 4-way stretch lycra that offers UV protection greater than 95%. There are no ears to rub, no eyes to rub, and no seams to rub! This faceless slicker can be used as a light summer neck and shoulder cover to keep braids and bands neat before a show, helps lay the mane down and best of all, the no face design stays in place!

2" wide flat band of elastic is encased with the 4-way stretch lycra, with hook and loop closure allowing you to adjust your throat latch size. Note: you should be able to fit 2 fingers under the throat after it is adjusted. Added length to the neck ensure the neck stays in place.
3/4 Zipper Closure with Web Lining
A heavy YKK zipper runs from the base of the neck to the chin. A soft 5/8" wide web flap is sewn to the inside and outside of the zipper keeping hair from getting stuck, and protecting your horse from rubs. The chest of the slicker is sewn closed reducing the possibility that these zippers can break.
No Snag Hook and Loop Girth Closure
2" wide elastic girth strap is wrapped in lycra keeping it smooth against the horse with hook and loop closure ends. It has ample adjustability to fit any horse's girth size. Nylon hook and loop closure reduces snagging of the lycra material.

Kodachrome is a very large Friesian paint Cross and he needed a slicker to keep him clean prior to our shows. Fortunately, I found the perfect slicker that was comfortable and well-made at Schneider‘s. And the benefit was that it came with his nose band embroidered with his name. Koda looks stunning in his black slicker, and the best part is he stays clean, even laying down in shavings until Our shows the next day. (I wanted to add another photo but can’t figure out how. )"

Wanted to like this but….
"Was super excited when this arrived. Unfortunately the sizing chart wasn't accurate for my 17. 3 HN/TB. The article when fitted wouldn’t stay below the shoulders and behind the withers as designed … it would only creep up the neck. It would work great as an equine neckie :). Sent it back. I much prefer the design with the fabric secured between the legs with the surcingle clip that I’ve used on my other horses. On the positive side, it appeared to be made the good quality."

"Blankets were rubbing my mare's shoulders bald. Her hair grew back in quickly and she has had no more bald spots. The fit of the shoulder guard is really good and uses a velcro belly band to keep it in place. It is well made as are most all items I have purchased from Schneider's. Highly recommend if your horse has blanket rubs on their shoulders."

"Hardly any winter turn out blanket will get your horse thru the winter without some hair loss. The shoulder guard allows freedom of movement, and complete comfort for your horse. I have been using them for several years. My one throughtbred mare is particularly hard to fit in any of the blankets that I have tried. With the shoulder guard I am worry free, and my mare is comfortable. The construction of the shoulder guard is of very high quality as well. This is one product that I can recommend without hesitation."
