UltraFlex® Forelock Saver Pull-On Slicker Hood
This slicker hood lets you pull your horse’s forelock through the hole at the poll, eliminating the forelock from being rubbed out or getting trapped and irritating the horse’s eyes.
  • Made of durable 8 oz. 4 way stretch, no-snag Lycra for long lasting performance
  • Offers UV protection greater than 95%
  • Pull-on style without a zipper
  • Comfort fleece cuff lines the noseband
  • No-rub seamless face design for additional comfort for your horse
  • Forelock hole prevents rub out or breakage of the delicate forelock hairs, and prevents hair from being trapped under the slicker, that could irritate the horse’s eyes
  • Extra-large eye holes eliminates the Lycra from coming close to the eyes, causing irritation
  • Elastic girth with no-snag hook and loop closure keeps the slicker hood in place at all times
  • Care instructions: Attach all hook and loop closures. Machine wash cool with mild soap, dry on low or hang dry

Best slicker ever

Kodachrome is a very large Friesian paint Cross and he needed a slicker to keep him clean prior to our shows. Fortunately, I found the perfect slicker that was comfortable and well-made at Schneider‘s. And the benefit was that it came with his nose band embroidered with his name. Koda looks stunning in his black slicker, and the best part is he stays clean, even laying down in shavings until Our shows the next day. (I wanted to add another photo but can’t figure out how. )"

Wanted to like this but….

"Was super excited when this arrived. Unfortunately the sizing chart wasn't accurate for my 17. 3 HN/TB. The article when fitted wouldn’t stay below the shoulders and behind the withers as designed … it would only creep up the neck. It would work great as an equine neckie :). Sent it back. I much prefer the design with the fabric secured between the legs with the surcingle clip that I’ve used on my other horses. On the positive side, it appeared to be made the good quality."

Love the shoulder guard

"Blankets were rubbing my mare's shoulders bald. Her hair grew back in quickly and she has had no more bald spots. The fit of the shoulder guard is really good and uses a velcro belly band to keep it in place. It is well made as are most all items I have purchased from Schneider's. Highly recommend if your horse has blanket rubs on their shoulders."

Ultra flex shoulder guard slicker.

"Hardly any winter turn out blanket will get your horse thru the winter without some hair loss. The shoulder guard allows freedom of movement, and complete comfort for your horse. I have been using them for several years. My one throughtbred mare is particularly hard to fit in any of the blankets that I have tried. With the shoulder guard I am worry free, and my mare is comfortable. The construction of the shoulder guard is of very high quality as well. This is one product that I can recommend without hesitation."

"The navy blue faceless slicker (mane tamer) looks great! Just what I wanted. (I've seen a few mishaps from the old style where the horse gets hay wadded up his mouth along with the mouth opening of the full face ones. Not cool). Can't tell how it will work in person, as our first show isn't until next month. But I think it will be awesome."
