Nice but difficult for horse to see if mesh gets wet

"I love the idea of this fly mask. It fits well and seems comfortable with no straps to rub. However, with the dark mesh, my horse has trouble seeing and actually ran into our fence several times trying to find his way back to the barn. It had rained a little and the mesh got wet and completely blurred his vision. Luckily I was there and ran out to remove the mask. I had a little trouble catching him because he was slightly panicked from the experience but was fine and unharmed as soon as the mask came off. I cannot take a chance on planning for a completely dry day so I am unable to use this mask."

Best Fly Mask

"This fly mask is perfect. Its large bug eyes are firm and stay far away from eyes, I also love that the fly mask has an opening for the forelock. My Friesian cross has a lot of mane and the forelock does not fit under other masks without being in the way or getting into his eyes. I love the fun print also. I would not buy another brand - they don’t compare in quality."

I LOVE THIS FLY MASK!!!

"I have used many fly masks over the years, but I love this one the best - and by a long shot! First of all, the eye covers are huge, so they aren’t laying against his eyelashes. Also, this fly mask has lasted much longer than any other. I think it is because the mesh on the ears and eyes is smoother and doesn’t catch on everything. The only caution I would say is that the sizing isn’t always right. I bought a medium first because that was the size indicated by the size of his fly sheet. He is short-bodied, but stocky, so I had to order a large so that it wasn’t choking him. Now that I know the right size, I won’t buy anything else."

LOVE this mask!

"I am a huge fan of the “bug eye” masks, as I like to call them. I own several of them all from Schneiders. I have some with zippers and forelock savers, some that are pull on with no forelock saver, and this one that is pull on with a forelock saver. This style is the winner! These masks LAST (one is 3 years old and still being used). This is the first mask available that does not have a zipper and has a forelock saver. I’m not a big fan of my one that has a zipper… (fur gets stuck). Pull on WITH the forelock saver is the way to go! My only complaint is that I wish there were more colors/patterns to choose from so each horse can have his/her own unique mask. Can’t wait to buy more when Schneiders (hopefully) launches additional options!"
