How to Measure a Horse for a Blanket
The most accurate and easiest way to determine your horse’s blanket size is to measure along the side of their body, from chest to tail. First, stand the horse square on a flat surface. Measure from the center of the chest, straight back to the very edge of the tail. Make sure to measure along the widest part of their shoulder and hindquarters. The number of inches measured in this way is your horse’s size. Look on the size chart for any Schneiders blanket for this number of inches to order your horse’s perfect size.

We use it on our young thoroughbred gelding and despite his best efforts, the sheet stays in place and keeps him nice and dry and warm in the cool fall weather here in the mountains of Colorado. "Love these. The higher level sheet, Extreme II, with 1680 denier is pretty tough and holds up well. The design fits a variety of horses. The colors on the 1680d are also fancier with more of a sheen. They are heavier than the other version, in case that's useful to know. These are our go to blankets, in any weight. But we have been really disappointed that in the last few years, Schneiders has used cheapened/ lower quality items for the belly straps & metal clips. They are now very lightweight, so flop around more, making them harder to adjust and clip, outside in the wind. More importantly, now they are too slick, so they belt straps often loosen overnight, which represents a safety issue for getting a leg hung up. I wish they would fix this. Sometimes the leg straps are barely long enough. Happy to pay the few extra dollars they must save using these, to go back to the quality they were before."
"The color is way off. The photo makes it look like a rust/orange. It’s not. It is definitely just plain brown. The 82 seems bigger than other brands, but the 80 was too tight in the shoulder. Customer service is friendly but they seem to not ship out until inquire back about the status of my order. This has happened 3 times now"
