How to Measure a Horse for a Blanket
The most accurate and easiest way to determine your horse’s blanket size is to measure along the side of their body, from chest to tail. First, stand the horse square on a flat surface. Measure from the center of the chest, straight back to the very edge of the tail. Make sure to measure along the widest part of their shoulder and hindquarters. The number of inches measured in this way is your horse’s size. Look on the size chart for any Schneiders blanket for this number of inches to order your horse’s perfect size.

"We've been ordering horse blankets for our mini donkeys from Schneiders for years now as we've added to our herd - 7 blankets in total. So far this blanket allows for the best mobility and seems to be most comfortable compared to the other adjusta-fit blankets we have. Love that Schneiders keeps trying to make their products even better, and even for minis! Thanks Schneiders, 100% satisfied!"
"The mini stallion had a good winter wearing this coat in the severe storms Downeast Maine had. Great wind and waterproofing."
"This is a great blanket! It stays in place really well, even with the cutback wither. My little mare is very active, and it doesn't shift through all of her running and rolling. It sheds dirt and water, and stays looking very nice. The weight is just right for my trace-clipped pony in our Idaho winter. My only complaint is that the surcingles were WAY too long adjusted as short as they could be, and I had to shorten them a bunch. The leg straps are also too long at their shortest adjustment. It is such a nice blanket that I chose to do these minor modifications to make it perfect."
"I never thought I’d be able to find a blanket to fit my 33 year old miniature donkey, much less such great quality and easy to put on and get off! With the extreme cold we were having and her recent weight loss, I needed ASAP, and was so surprised when it arrived in just three days! The 7 year warranty is unheard of!"
"Very happy with this blanket . It arrived quickly and was sized right and it’s very durable and wears well."
"I was extremely pleased when my blanket for peanut arrived. I thought the cost would be a lot higher for the quality of blanket that I got for her. I bought from Snyder’s because I had masks for my miniatures that I bought from them and they were above my expectations so far I’ve been extremely happy with everything I’ve gotten from Schneider’s And I really appreciate that in today’s business world. Usually with other companies I’ve dealt with, I have been disappointed, but this time it was just absolutely out of this world. I have found a home for buying for my horses. I do appreciate Schneider‘s and will continue to always do business with them. Thank you so much."
"Well made and adjustable. Fabric and hardware all look to be top quality."
"Fits my mini donkey perfectly! Great item ! So hard to find quality products for these guys ! Thank you!!"
"I have bought these mini blankets for my miniature horses for years. They are the best on the market they fit them appropriately. The only thing I would add to them is a Detachable neck. Otherwise, they are the perfect weight and size and cut for my miniature horses."
"I purchased both the 0 fill and medium weight. We needed the 0 fill turnout first however, I will be returning the medium weight. During the first use stitching didn't hold. Over the years I loved the quality and sadly the cost has increased significantly while the quality has decreased significantly. Very disappointed!"
