Fine Enough to Stop the Gnats. Open Enough to Breathe.
Extra-fine 350D “window screen” nylon mesh keeps even the tiniest gnats off your horse while the air keeps moving — in our V-Free® Wither Relief fit for low to moderate withers.

Your Horse Is Still Getting Bitten — And Rubbed Raw — By the Sheet That Was Supposed to Help
A mesh is only as good as its weave. Plenty of fly sheets keep the big flies off and let gnats and midges straight through — the insects that do the most damage to thin skin and the ones your horse can least ignore. Then there is the fit. A sheet cut for a tall, narrow wither sits differently on a Quarter Horse, a Paint, or an Arabian, and a sheet that sits wrong slides, gaps, and opens a new gap every time he drops his head to graze or turns his neck to chase a fly.
So you spray more, bring him in earlier, and straighten the sheet twice a day. What you actually need is a mesh fine enough to stop what is biting him, and a fit built for the way he is put together.

It's Not Your Horse. It's How Fly Sheets Have Been Built for Decades.
Weave is the first fork in the road. An open mesh moves air beautifully and lets the small stuff through. A tighter weave stops more insects and can feel heavier on a still, humid afternoon. Very few sheets publish enough about the fabric for you to know which trade you are making until your horse has worn it through a hot week.
Fit is the second. If the neckline cannot be set to your horse's build, the sheet finds its own position — usually backward, usually crooked, usually pulling at the chest. Size up for room and there is more material free to shift. Size down for security and the front starts to bind.
That is how a season turns into a routine of straightening, re-spraying, and re-buying. None of it changes the two things that decide the outcome: what the mesh is made of, and whether the sheet was cut for your horse.
- ✗Gnats and midges getting through a mesh that only stops the big flies
- ✗A sheet that has slid back or sat crooked by the afternoon check
- ✗Chest and belly bites on a horse who has worn a fly sheet all day
- ✗Sheets cut for high, narrow withers on a low-withered stock-breed horse

A Window-Screen Weave and a Fit Built for Low Withers
The fit is the other half. The V-Free® Wither Relief cut relieves pressure on low to moderate-withered horses — Arabians, Quarter Horses, and other stock breeds — and the sheet contours to your horse's body instead of bridging over it. Our original Adjusta-Fit® system lets you set the front for his actual chest and neck rather than the nearest available notch, and the open front with surcingle closure keeps the sheet where you put it through grazing, walking, and rolling.
Where the fabric sits against him all day, SilverTek® antibacterial nylon lines the chest, shoulders, and tail flap. Reflective stripes add visibility in low light or night turnout. Made by horse lovers, for horse lovers, and family-owned since 1948.
Stops the Small Biters
The extra-fine 350D “window screen” weave is rated Best Insect Protection in our fly lineup against gnats, midges, mosquitoes, and stable and deer flies.
Exceptional Airflow
A mesh this fine still breathes — built for horses living in moderate to hot climates, so coverage does not have to mean a heavier afternoon.
40% UV Protection
A published 40% UV rating over the topline, so the sheet is shading your horse's coat while it keeps the insects off.
V-Free® Wither Relief Fit
Cut to relieve pressure on low to moderate withers — Arabians, Quarter Horses, and other stock breeds — with our original Adjusta-Fit® system at the front.
What Riders Are Saying
"Finding a good fit for my 15. 1 hand Oldenburg mare who's built a bit like a Quarter horse is challenging. Blankets and sheets tend to ride back and pull hard across her chest. Her previous Weatherbeeta sheet fit well otherwise but was super tight right where her neck met her shoulder and it put a lot of pressure there. That can't be comfortable or healthy! Two things that could be improved: The velcro at the front of the chest is a little small or wimpy. Sometimes when the staff ..."
"Finally, an effective fly sheet that is light-weight. Great fit, true to size. The adjustable front buckles easily accomodate any type of neck-sternum thickness."
"I have a gelding very sensitive to bugs, especially mosquitoes. And unfortunately due to circumstances out of my control, we’re going to be moving from the best, lovely dry climate to a swampy mess of humidity and bugs. So I wanted to find him something before we get there. I love the fit, true to size, and it’s the first fly sheet that I’ve seen that I feel confident he’s not going to overheat in. On top of the fit, fabric, and construction I think it looks pretty nice too. Only thing I find..."
