Perfect trail shoe for barefoot QH
"I LOVE these and so does my mare. Our home trails are also fishing roads, and so there is a mix of footings we traverse - grass, rooty paths, concrete, asphalt crusher run, and gravel. After switching my mare barefoot, I noticed she was pickier about how she moved on the trails, stepping more carefully and avoiding certain spots. I decided on these jogging shoes after doing (too much) research on the various brands and the pros/cons. I am so pleased - the sizing chart was very accurate to my mare's foot measurements and the resultant size I purchased. These fit snugly without rubbing or constricting her. There is a learning curve for getting them on - I wouldn't recommend them if your horse isn't patient about foot handling, as it takes a minute to wrangle the hoof into these and to figure out the right angles of putting them on, but once you get them on, they are amazing (they come with an instruction pamphlet that definitely helped). My mare stepped right off into them without any hesitation and was much more comfortable on the varying trail surfaces. She had no rubs or irritation on her heel bulbs or around her pasterns, and genuinely seemed to like them. They keep out most debris - she had a few sandy grains of dirt and a blade or two of grass clippings inside when I removed them, nothing that would create an issue. The straps can be positioned to adjust the fit around the pastern for optimal protection. Overall, I would absolutely buy these again once the first pair need replacing."
