Korsteel Stainless Steel French Link 3 Ring Dutch Gag Bit

A French link bit features a rounded, flat center link between the two sides of the mouthpiece, which significantly reduces the harsh 'nutcracker' effect that occurs with single-jointed bits. This design distributes pressure more evenly across the horse's palate and tongue, making it a gentler option for horses with limited palate clearance or those sensitive to traditional bit designs.

The 3-ring design allows you to adjust leverage and poll pressure by choosing which ring you attach your reins to. The lower ring provides the most leverage and stronger communication, while the upper rings offer lighter, more subtle cues—giving you flexibility to customize the bit's action based on your horse's needs and training level.

This bit is designed for experienced riders who understand bit mechanics and can use the independent control it offers effectively. The adjustable leverage and nuanced communication it provides make it ideal for advanced training scenarios where riders need tailored responsiveness and precise, gentle control of each side of the horse's mouth.

Yes, this bit is made from stainless steel, which is a high-quality, corrosion-resistant material that resists rust and withstands regular use and cleaning. Stainless steel bits are known for their durability and longevity, making them a solid long-term investment for serious riders.

This bit works particularly well for horses with less palate clearance, as the French link design accommodates their mouth structure more comfortably than traditional single-jointed bits. It's also excellent for horses that respond well to independent lateral control and those requiring a bit with adjustable leverage for varied training situations.

Stainless steel bits are easy to maintain—simply rinse with warm water after each ride to remove saliva and debris, and dry thoroughly. For deeper cleaning, you can use mild soap and warm water, then dry completely; stainless steel's corrosion-resistant properties mean it won't rust even with regular exposure to moisture.
