Fantastic bag...while they lasted

"I ordered two, after being a small-hole hay net user for years, when my biggest horse couldn't get the hay out of them with her big lips. They arrived in Feb and I really loved them. I got the XL for my big E Wash bales, and they were easy to fill, easy to hang (the centrally located ring especially) and overall perfect. They lasted the rest of the winter for x2 feedings and then mostly retired in the summer but I noticed the fabric was getting thin when I started using again for nighttime feedings again as the grass died. Sure enough last week the bottoms busted out of both. Now I'm torn between buying new ones because they really were the best I've ever used or really considering the convenience v cost because that wasn't a lot of use, seven months and not even close to every day. Thankfully had some used Schneider hay bags I picked up as trailer bags that seem more durable because both sides are the nylon webbing and no fabric but they are a pain to fill and hang and the horses go through the hay faster."

Been a long time "string

"Been a long time "string style" hay bag user. Like. . . 20+ years, ever since I needed to move away from stable hay racks because I had piggy horses that emptied those in no time flat and then starved for eight or more hours. "Starved. " But then I started dealing with a lot of waste out into my barn aisle from them against the stall bars that I just dealt with and THEN my Irish filly got bigger. And bigger. And then I noticed she started walking away from her hay and just standing around dejected looking. Hung a camera in her stall and realized she couldn't get her big fat lips into the little slow feeder holes. I needed something sturdy and a little slow-feeder-ish, but could still give better access. The horses still munch off these all day and all night but my big (BIG) girl can easily eat now and is much happier. LOVE these bags. The straps make them easy to hang, love the d-ring on the bag to keep it from spinning, and added bonus I didn't think of, the solid back keeps the waste in the aisle to a bare minimum."

"I was not particularly impressed with this bag. The strap it hangs from is pretty short and the top gapes open. I should have looked more closely at the description and pictures before purchasing it."

Great!

"I love this hay bag! I use it for trailering and for at shows. I like that my girl can have easy access to the hay from either the nice sized holes in front, or take from the top. She is a lean thoroughbred, so I like to ensure she has free choice 24/7, and this bag (unlike some hay bags that are slow feeders) allows her to eat pretty much unhindered. It's also very clean! Despite her pulling hay from the top, it didn't leave a mess. Very well designed!"

Good for a trailer with a manger.

"The hay bag is nice and heavy. However it doesn't work if you have an open area in front of the horse. I can't use it."
