Waldhausen Double-Jointed Anatomical Eggbutt Bit

The Waldhausen anatomical eggbutt features a specially shaped mouthpiece designed to fit your horse's mouth naturally. This design promotes even pressure on the tongue and encourages better chewing and faster bit acceptance, giving you more targeted control without unnecessary leverage or discomfort.

Yes, this bit is constructed entirely from stainless steel, which resists rust and corrosion while maintaining durability through regular use and varied weather conditions. Stainless steel is also easy to clean and maintain, making it a practical choice for everyday riding.

Horses that are sensitive to bit pressure, struggle with traditional bit designs, or take time to accept their tack are excellent candidates for this anatomical style. The shaped mouthpiece is particularly helpful for horses that benefit from improved tongue positioning and more refined communication with their rider.

Stainless steel bits are simple to maintain—rinse with clean water after each ride and dry thoroughly to prevent any buildup. For deeper cleaning, use warm soapy water and a soft brush, then rinse and dry completely. Regular care keeps the bit in excellent condition for years of use.

The double-jointed design allows the mouthpiece to follow the natural contours of your horse's mouth while distributing pressure more evenly across the tongue and bars. This flexibility encourages relaxation and acceptance, making transitions and cues feel softer and more responsive.

The eggbutt design is versatile and commonly used in English riding disciplines where gentle, consistent contact is valued. Its anatomical mouthpiece works well for everyday riding, schooling, and situations where you want reliable control with a bit that prioritizes your horse's comfort and responsiveness.
