Waldhausen Loose Ring Double Jointed Snaffle Bit

The Waldhausen Double Broken Snaffle has a 7 cm ring diameter, which is a standard size for most adult horses. To ensure proper fit, measure your horse's mouth width from the inside corner of one lip to the other—the bit should sit snugly without pinching or shifting side to side. If you're unsure about sizing, we recommend consulting with your trainer or veterinarian before purchasing.

Yes, this bit is constructed from stainless steel, which is durable, rust-resistant, and easy to maintain. Stainless steel is a popular choice for quality bits because it won't corrode or discolor over time, even with regular cleaning and exposure to moisture.

The double broken snaffle with an olive-shaped intermediate piece is an intermediate bit suitable for horses that need more communication and control than a simple snaffle offers. It's commonly used in training situations and for riders looking for a bit with slightly more definition than a single-jointed snaffle, making it a versatile choice for various disciplines.

Since this bit is made from stainless steel, maintenance is straightforward—rinse it with warm water and mild soap after each ride to remove saliva, feed particles, and dirt. Stainless steel resists rust naturally, so occasional cleaning will keep it looking new and functioning smoothly for years.

A double broken snaffle has two joints in the mouthpiece, with an olive-shaped intermediate piece in the center, rather than just one joint like a traditional snaffle. This design creates a gentler, more distributed pressure across the horse's mouth and bars, which many trainers prefer for improving communication during the training process.

At $19.95, the Waldhausen Double Broken Snaffle offers excellent value for a quality stainless steel bit from a reputable European manufacturer. You're getting a durable, functional intermediate bit at an affordable price point, making it a smart choice for riders who want reliable equipment without breaking the budget.
