Contour Collar Euro Fit Guide Designed with a Contour Collar Euro fit, this blanket accommodates both sloped and upright shoulder conformations and is well suited for horses with a low to flat shorter wither, balanced muscle tone, and smoother, flatter topline appearance. Measure chest to tail, along the side of the body across the widest part of the shoulder and hindquarters. If you land between sizes, size up — a snug fit causes pinching and rubs. What Horse Owners Are Saying

★★★★★
My senior lives outside 24/7, stands outside in the pouring rain for hours despite having a giant haynet in his shelter. This blanket has kept him dry and warm all December. He has a full coat and his heavy blankets are way too warm for most of a New England winter. I keep this on him from 15 to 40 degree weather, adding his heavy version of this blanket for really cold snaps.

I recently purchased this turnout blanket for a gelding who had surgery in February. He was kept under lights at the Veterinary Hospital and started to shed his coat. It was the perfect weight for what we needed and such good quality, we ended up buying a second one! We were especially excited about the two different closures offered. Very happy horse and human in Kansas!

I have always chose Schneiders for my Ali's blankets because of the service and the information/education prior to selecting the right fit. The fist blankets I purchased were worth the money spent as they are all still in excellent condition. Good quality fabrics and durability. My Ali loves his blankets! We thank you and appreciate your customer services! Carrie and Ali

Key benefits

Contour Collar Euro Fit

Designed with a Contour Collar Euro fit, this blanket accommodates both sloped and upright shoulder conformations and is well suited for horses with a low to flat shorter wither, balanced muscle tone, and smoother, flatter topline appearance. It may also suit horses that are slightly downhill, where the hindquarters sit higher than the wither.

Made with no back seam to guard against leakage in the rain and snow, with fleece at the wither for extra comfort and protection against rubbing.

Guaranteed Waterproof Protection

The elements are no match for these blankets — water just beads up and rolls off. Our StormShield blankets are 5X more waterproof than competitive brands. Contour Collar Extreme's outer fabric is very durable and designed to withstand wear and tear from playful horses. Backed by a 2 Year Warranty! 1680D Poly.

Reviews

Does the job well.

"The first one I received did not hold up at all. The waterproofing failed almost immediately. Schneiders replaced it right away and this one seems to be holding up just fine. We do not generally get very warm, so this is a good weight for most of the time. Fit is pretty good although it's tough to keep up with my horse's body changes. I still like my Amigos and Rambos but if you need a good solid blanket for a less than astronomical price, this is a good choice. And it comes in pink, which is a HUGE bonus! I always know where she is in the field."

High Quality Blanket!

"I love this blanket. I can feel the quality just by touching it. It’s nice and thick with some heft. It hasn’t been cold enough to use the medium weight yet, and I’ll only be using it when it gets to extreme temps. My horse is unclipped and sweats very easily so for the most part I’ll be using his lightweight, but I’m positive this will keep him warm when it gets in the teens or even negative temperatures, plus I can easily layer it with the lightweight if I need to. It fits well and is easy to adjust- he has a high neck carriage and it’s perfect for him. He also looks very handsome in it which is nice because he’s very vain! I cannot find a single fault. I don’t have a picture of him wearing it but this photo is for reference to his body type. He’s 15 hh and lean. He’s still growing and this blanket will give him room when he fills out more."

Best turnout sheet we have

"The stormshield turnout sheet is simply the best sheet we have in our barn. We use it on our young thoroughbred gelding and despite his best efforts, the sheet stays in place and keeps him nice and dry and warm in the cool fall weather here in the mountains of Colorado. The original color is an ordered was backordered and Schneiders was absolutely perfect to work with on finding a replacement color. Cannot recommend both the blanket and Schneiders more highly."

— Matt H. (5/5)

Classic HighNeck sheet, A++

"Great blanket. Has held up for multiple seasons and is still keeping my horses dry. Hard playing Warmbloods and TBs, still no rips or tears. Am. Uying the same blanket again this season for a new arrival."

— Caitlin (5/5)

Keep the rain and cold away with this cozy blankie

"As always Schneider fit guide worked out well and the fit is great. Ill use this for wet, cold season before snow and subzero temps arrive. Great quality, sizing perfect."

— Valerie (5/5)

this is my favorite blanket

"This is truly my FAVORITE blanket ever!!!! I bought one for my mare last year, and now I’m getting another one for my new mare! Seriously, THE BEST! ❤️ Once you have a blanket with a belly wrap, you’ll never want to go back. I’ll never buy another blanket without one again!"

— Nicole P. (5/5)

Heavy duty & fits well

"Love these. The higher level sheet, Extreme II, with 1680 denier is pretty tough and holds up well. The design fits a variety of horses. The colors on the 1680d are also fancier with more of a sheen. They are heavier than the other version, in case that's useful to know. These are our go to blankets, in any weight. But we have been really disappointed that in the last few years, Schneiders has used cheapened/ lower quality items for the belly straps & metal clips. They are now very lightweight, so flop around more, making them harder to adjust and clip, outside in the wind. More importantly, now they are too slick, so they belt straps often loosen overnight, which represents a safety issue for getting a leg hung up. I wish they would fix this. Sometimes the leg straps are barely long enough. Happy to pay the few extra dollars they must save using these, to go back to the quality they were before."

— JENNIFER (5/5)

The color is way off.

"The color is way off. The photo makes it look like a rust/orange. It’s not. It is definitely just plain brown. The 82 seems bigger than other brands, but the 80 was too tight in the shoulder. Customer service is friendly but they seem to not ship out until inquire back about the status of my order. This has happened 3 times now"

— Lisa J. (5/5)

StormShield Contour Collar

"The fit is great and my horse seems very comfortable in it. The outer garment is quite durable but the lining ripped after about a month for some reason (which didn't seem to have anything to do with an external stressor of any kind). After repair, it washed up quite nicely. The outside still looks like a new turnout. We'll be using it again this winter."

— Linda (4/5)

Rain sheet

"The material used to make this rainsheet is sturdy and well made. Viewing and placing the order for the sheet was easy and quick. I recommend all horse owners to shop Schneider's for all their horse's needs!"
