When the gnats are out, a fly sheet is only as good as its weave. The Mosquito Mesh® II is an extra-fine 350-denier 'window screen' nylon mesh that keeps out even the tiniest gnats, midges and no-see-ums while still letting the air move, our Best rating for small and medium insects and for airflow. It carries 40% UV protection, SilverTek® antibacterial lining on the chest, shoulders and tail flap, and reflective stripes for dawn and dusk turnout. Designed with our V-Free® Wither Relief fit, this sheet is well suited for horses with a naturally sloped shoulder, moderately defined shorter wither, strong topline from wither to croup, and shorter coupled, well-muscled build. The attached neck cover adds coverage from ears to tail, with a stretch seam at the neck junction that moves with your horse through grazing and drinking. The patented Adjusta-Fit® system lets you customize the neck opening to help fit different widths and head carriages. An open front with two buckles and a bellyband that wraps the underside and closes over the back with hook and loop. Blue, Gray, sizes 70 to 86 in even sizes; see the chart. Backed by a 2-year warranty against manufacturing defects.

It comes in our comfortable Attached Neck V-Free® Wither Relief fit option that relieves pressure on low to moderate-withered horses, offering full protection from ears to tail. The sheet contours to your horse’s body for a comfortable fit, providing 40% UV protection.
When choosing a fly sheet for your horse, the key considerations should include fabric breathability and durability, insect and UV protection needed depending on turnout needs. This sheet is perfect if your horse needs the best insect protection and airflow or lives in a hot, buggy climate. It comes in five fit options to accommodate all types of withers. Don’t forget the matching neck cover.
This fly sheet is the best for insect protection and airflow. The 350D extra fine “window screen” nylon mesh protects against the widest range of biting insects, such as tiny gnats, mosquitos, and flies. It’s extremely breathable and stays cool in direct sunlight, providing 40% UV protection. The open front option features double front snaps with new and improved wider hook and loop closures, allowing you to easily adjust the fly sheet for the perfect amount of “snugness” at the front of the chest. Plus, the snaps make it easy to put on and remove.
The bellyband closure option protects from flies and midges biting along the sensitive underbelly. Brass-plated hardware is positioned to avoid rubbing or poking while your horse is lying down, and the t-post hardware on the bellyband closure includes locking bands and incorporates elastic inserts for more give as the horse moves since the proper fit is with the bellyband snug and flush to the belly.

The most accurate and easiest way to determine your horse’s blanket size is to measure along the side of their body, from chest to tail. First, stand the horse square on a flat surface. Measure from the center of the chest, straight back to the very edge of the tail. Make sure to measure along the widest part of their shoulder and hindquarters. The number of inches measured in this way is your horse’s size. Look on the size chart for any Schneiders blanket for this number of inches to order your horse’s perfect size.

"I love this fly sheet, it is pretty durable and the velcro stays sticky. I appreciate the reflective stripes for nighttime. No other fly sheet fits my big quarter horse mule, as she is both a round stocky quarterhorse and an upright mule, haha. The adjustability is huge."
"I’ve had trouble finding an effective flysheet that does not hold water if there’s a pop-up shower and does not overheat my horse. This fly sheet checks all the boxes- it’s super effective against biting flies and mosquitoes, fits really well and does not shift, does not overheat my horse. And easily sheds water. Worth every penny."
"Held up well! Protects from gnats and horseflies well! All my horses wear these, I have two young warmbloods and an old gelding, I am really picky on how fly sheets fit and hate how most pull on the bases of their necks, these do not. I have two that are on year 6!"
"This is a great purchase and fit for my very sensitive skinned paint horse, who was rubbed raw by ALL other sheets, this one has been amazing and well worth the money!"
"I absolutely LOVE this fly sheet for a number of reasons! I tried 4 previous sheets from other companies this summer, none of which fit my horse properly or gave her enough ventilation. This sheet is of incredible quality and I know will last a very long time. It is breathable which is awesome for my girl as it keeps her protected from the bugs and cool. Absolutely LOVE the belly band closure which makes so much sense for a fly sheet. The best part about it is the adjustable fit. My horse is typically very challenging to fit because of her high withers and wide shoulders, but this fits her absolutely perfectly. I love that adjustafit feature, so much so that I also purchased a sheet and blanket for her as I know they will also be excellent fits. Forever now a Schneiders customer! Love the customer service and quality of products."
"Highly recommend this fly sheet based on it being easy to get a good fit with the adjustable straps and it’s durability."
"This is the second fly sheet, exact same model I have purchased. While my mare is typically good to not destroy her "clothes", they have lasted between 3 and 4 summers. That's great durability. Also!! I have witnessed on two separate occasions horse flies trying to bite through the fly sheets and failing. The horses didn't even realized a horse fly had landed on them. Schneiders doesn't advertise this benefit but it is real and how grateful I am for it. This is the only fly sheet for me."
"This fits my big Appendix mare and her neck and shoulders well, no rubs. She gets welts from bug bites and this helps significantly. No welts where she is covered. Very lightweight, great color. No rips so far. I would love if the tail flap was almost twice as long."
"I purchased my first Schneider’s mosquito mesh fly sheet for my paint/draft cross gelding to replace the Horseware Amigo fly sheet he came with, which had ripped. He’s on day turnout and has a lot of white hair/pink skin across his top line, so I wanted something that wouldn’t cook him in sweaty New England summers and would give him a bit of protection from sunburn. My horse enjoys a thorough roll to scratch his back and bum every day, but isn’t otherwise hard on his gear. Well, I purchased another Amigo fly sheet as a back-up when the Schneider’s one went to the blanket washer, but it didn’t even last 6 weeks. He tore it shoulders to hip - I don’t even know how. And that’s how I ended up buying the second Schneider’s Mosquito Mesh fly sheet!"
"Good material, but bellly band straps way too short. I let mine out all the way and it's a snug fit. Almost like a cinch or girth. I bought a 72". Fits fine in length. I have a 14.2 senior that runs on the slim side. No way does this fit a rounder horse. I tried it on with a sheet but then took the sheet off after verifying length and to fasten straps. With the sheet on I am quite sure I would not have been able to get the straps fastened at all. Plus the leg straps have 2 buckles to adjust, so it's a pain. So buyer beware not sure what you are to do about this but letting you know."
