When to use Rubber Reins

Rubber horse reins are a great tool for ensuring you have a solid grip while riding in the rain or for teaching young riders how to properly hold their reins. Rubber reins are leather reins coated in rubber to help the rider effectively grip their reins while they ride. Riders who frequently ride in the rain, have a horse that sweats heavily, or live in humid climates can greatly benefit from using rubber reins.

For beginner riders, rainbow rubber reins are available to help show the rider how long their reins should be while they ride. An instructor can simply tell them to put their hands on the correct color and continue to remind them throughout the lesson. Rubber reins are especially helpful since beginner riders cannot usually feel how long their reins are and the colors help them determine where to put their hands.
